Symposium: WERK – Labor Move

Artists ́ Moving Image – Symposium
Reykjavik Art Museum will host an international symposium, a platform where artists, filmmakers, theorists and curators are invited to meet for co-operation and exchange through talks, creative interventions, screenings and round table discussions.
The symposium will be divided into two areas of focus:
I. The field between film and art, and the potentials of finding alternative, interesting and sustainable modes for nurturing artists´ moving image.
II. Exploring noticeable research-practices, methods and mediation strategies of artists´ moving image, which center on global economic- and socio-political topics such as labor and migration.
The symposium is set at the occasion of artist Hulda Rós Guðnadóttir´s solo exhibition at the Reykjavik Art Museum, in the extended context of Iceland´s highly active and known scene of artist´ film and video art.
The symposium will be streamed online.
Participants will be announced at the end of February.
