15. August 2019 - 17:00

Event location:

An informal presentation of a new Nordic residency and art center, launched in Buenos Aires, Argentina earlier this year. The talk will be introduced by Birta Guðjónsdóttir, curator of the Icelandic Pavilion at this year’s Venice Biennale and one of the advisors of the project. The presentation includes a talk and discussion by PAVILION NORDICO co-founder Sara Løve Daðadóttir as well as the visual design team of the project, Josefin Askfelt and Emil Willumsen of Copenhagen-based Kiosk Studio.

The trio will present the international art initiative PAVILION NORDICO, its roots, goals and future plans, give context on the historical and cultural background of its first location in Buenos Aires, and discuss the nuts and bolts of setting up an international artist residency.

Whether you’re an artist interested in applying for the residency, a cultural practitioner curious about the logistics of an international art project, or a visual designer looking for inspiration on how to merge the content and aesthetics of a project, the PAVILION NORDICO team will take you through the key stages and considerations that went into setting up the first Nordic residency and art center outside of Europe, and provide information as well as inspiration sourced from practical experience.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A.
