Dozens of BA students in the Departments of Fine Art from Iceland Academy of the Arts fill the halls of the Reykjavík Art Museum - Hafnarhús with works that reflect learning, research and artistic creation during the last three years.

Text from the curators:
Finding the path to your ideas is a journey of uncertainty that requires courage and boldness. The route is seldom well-marked, and the destination is in constant motion, if it is moving at all. This makes the trip even more enjoyable. Boundaries are expanded and new paths explored. Curiosity, resourcefulness and the clear determination of students have now led them to this important milestone, after a study that has given them a variety of opportunities to explore ideas and develop skills.

The Graduation Exhibition of the Iceland University of the Arts 2021 is a harvest festival for more than seventy students from the Art, Architecture, and Design departments at BA level and from the MA Design programme. Students' approaches are varied, and each individual's approach is unique. Here you can find fragrant books, national team uniforms for new sports, a rat in search of the cheese of life, a sound mirror and a perfect moment. They also deal with perception in space, the search for love, the imagery of overthinking and ways to reuse synthetics. Other works look for new worlds of color, give us insight into the stories of fishermen and reflect on ideas for new settlements on Viðey.

No simple solutions or untraceable truths are presented here. The works, on the other hand, give us a fresh perspective on what we thought we knew - or open up new dimensions for us. We deliberately encourage visitors to catch their breath, open their minds, and enjoy the harvest.
