Venue Hire at Hafnarhús
The Reykjavík Art Museum offers Hafnarhús for hire. Among the events that take place at Hafnarhús is the annual Iceland Airwaves music festival, concerts, and conferences. The spaces are suitable for all types of corporate and private events, including lectures, drinks receptions, presentations, dinners, and wedding receptions.
We offer in-house catering service for smaller events when applicable. The spaces are available for evening occasions, during the Museum's closing hours, where the client has exclusive use of the hired spaces. However, it is possible to hire a separate section during opening hours, allowing for privacy without using the full space.
Hafnarhús was originally built as offices and warehouses for the Port of Reykjavik. It's original design bears the hallmarks of the international style in Modernism. The museum was formally opened in the renovated Hafnarhús in the year 2000.
We offer the Open Court, the Multi-Purpose Hall, the hallways, lobby, and library for hire. The building is equipped with movable walls that provides flexibility, it is possible to tailor the space to meet the specific requirements of each client.

During the Museum's closing hours, the Open Court can be enlarged to include the hallways on both floors, lobby, and alternatively the Multi-Purpose Hall.
