Hildur Bjarnadóttir: Ecosystem of Colors

The exhibition Ecosystem of Colors opens on Saturday 3 September at 4 p.m.  at Kjarvalsstaðir. The works in this exhibition explore the desire to find one’s place in the world, a place of one’s own.

This is the last chance to see rarely seen works by Iceland´s most beloved painter, Jóhannes S. Kjarval (1885-1972) at Kjarvalsstaðir. The exhibition Mind and World ends Sunday 21 August.

Ingibjörg Sigurjónsdóttir opens her art exhibition This is Our First and Last Work on Saturday 20 August at 5 p.m. in Gallery D. In her work, Ingibjörg molds the poetic and the abstract into sculptures in her search for truth and beauty.

The exhibition Subselves Mean Well by Arnfinnur Amazeen will be closed down on Sunday 7 August. In his practice, Arnfinnur examines the monotonous round of everyday life and the contradictory role of the person within.

Frú Lauga Matstofa has opened a new cafe and restaurant at Reykjavík Art Museum, Hafnarhús 2. floor. The restaurant is in charge of Frú Lauga, which as created a good reputation for a farmers market of fresh products and goodies from Europe.

Guided tours in English every Friday this summer – at Kjarvalsstaðir at 2 p.m. through the exhibition Jóhannes S. Kjarval: Mind and World and a guided tour through Hafnarhús at 4 p.m.
