The Reykjavík Art Museum is pleased to present the exhibition Looking In – Sculptures and Models by Katrín Sigurðardóttir, which will be opened at Hafnarhús on 3 October at 4 p.m.

Richard Serra: Áfangar

The final day of the exhibition Áfangar by Richard Serra (b.1939) is Sunday 20 September. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the installation of the environmental artwork Áfangar on Viðey Island off Reykjavík.

There were a lot of people at the Sport Center in Austurberg in Breiðholt last Friday when the mural Queen of the Jungle by Erró was unveiled.

Women’s Time – Here and Now Thirty Years Later

The exhibition Women’s Time – Here and Now Thirty Years Later will be opened at Kjarvalsstaðir on Saturday 12 September at 4 p.m. Nearly 30 women will show new works but these are the same women who participated in an exhibition named Here and Now at Kjarvalsstaðir in 1985.

The lecture Anni Albers: A Glorious Pioneer at Kjarvalsstaðir on Sunday 30 August at 3 p.m. by Nicholas Fox Weber, Executive Director of the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation, in connection with the exhibition Textile art by Júlíana Sveinsdóttir and Anni Albers.

Reykjavík Art Museum is one of the venues for this years edition of Reykjavík Dance Festival and presents two works at Hafnarhús.

Sunday 30 August is the last day of the exhibitions, Júlíana Sveinsdóttir and Ruth Smith: Two Strong Women and Textile art by Júlíana Sveinsdóttir and Anni Albers: Vertical / horizontal at Kjarvalsstaðir.

Reykjavík Art Museum offers a diverse programme  at Hafnarhús and Kjarvalsstaðir for this year’s Reykjavík Culture Night that takes place on Saturday August 22nd. The program is free and open to everyone.

Hafþór Yngvason og Ólöf K. Sigurðardóttir

Ólöf served as the director of Hafnarborg, cultural and artistic center of Hafnarfjörður from 2008-2015 where she was the artistic director. She was responsible for the exhibitions program and other professional activities such as the museum education program, concerts and other cultural events.
