Symposium: The future of Contemporary Art. Reception, mediation and discourse
Art Theoretical Society of Iceland in collaboration with Reykjavik Art Museum is hosting a symposium held Saturday, 24 November, 1-3 p.m. at Hafnarhus. The symposium is set to discuss the reception and mediation of contemporary art and the current state of discourse and dialogue within the Icelandic art scene.
Speakers include Harpa Þórsdóttir, dir. Museum of Design and Applied Art, Dr. Hlynur Helgason, art critic and lector at University of Iceland and Markús Þór Andrésson, independent curator. Moderated by Dagný Heiðdal, art historian and Head of Collection at the National Gallery of Iceland.
The symposium takes place in Icelandic, is free and open to everyone.
