Loðmar’s Untold Stories: Workshop for the Family. Kjarvalsstaðir. Sunday 2 October, 2 pm.
Loðmar is a character that lives in the first page of a book. But until now, he has not deared to move over to the next pages. Its authors, Auður Ösp Guðmundsdóttir and Embla Vigfúsdóttir, and artist Huginn Þór Arason will lead a storytelling workshop where few untold stories might reveal itself.
The workshop is organized in relation to Kjarval‘s OddiTIES, an ongoing workshop currently on at Listasafn Reykjavik – Kjarvalsstaðir. The painter Jóhannes S. Kjarval was known for his eccentricities that challenged the Icelandic society and its bourgeois values. The Workshop examines the idea if the artist’s eccentric behaviour and strange actions might be interpreted as performance art. Were they a part of the artist’s creative work-process and therefore containing a conscious artistic meaning? Huginn Þór Arason is the instigator and curator of the workshop.
The event will take place in Icelandic.
