Artist Sara Riel receives a prize from the Guðmunda S. Kristinsdóttir fund for the arts
Today Hafþór Yngvason, director of Reykjavik Art Museum, delivered artist Sara Riel award from the Guðmunda S. Kristinsdóttir fund for the arts. The fund was established in 1997 with the aim of awarding an annual grant to recognize and empower the creation of art by women through the support of woman artists who have demonstrated excellence in their field.
The past recipients of the award are Ólöf Nordal, Finna Birna Steinsson, Katrín Sigurðardóttir, Gabriela Friðriksdóttir, Sara Björnsdóttir, Þóra Þórisdóttir, Guðrún Vera Hjartardóttir, Hekla Dögg Jónsdóttir, Hulda Stefánsdóttir and Margrét H. Blöndal.
