ELEKTRA ENSEMBLE - RUSSIAN ADVENTURE. WEDNESDAY, 8 APRIL AT 8 PM

The music group Elektra Ensemble was recently announced The Music group of Reykjavik 2009 followed by a co-sponsorship contract with Reykjavik Art Museum. The group will play four concerts at Kjarvalsstaðir this year, starting next Wednesday, April 8th with a programme dedicated to the Russian composers Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff.

The musicians of Elektra Ensemble are: Ástríður Alda Sigurðardóttir piano, Emilía Rós Sigfúsdóttir flute, Helga Björg Arnardóttir clarinet, Helga Þóra Björgvinsdóttir violin and Margrét Árnadóttir cello.

PROGRAMME
S. Prokofiev: Sonata Nr.2, Op.94
P. Tchaikovsky: Pezzo Capriccioso, Op.62
S. Rachmaninov: Trio élégiaque Nr.1 in g-minor
I. Stravinsky: Three solos for clarinet
I. Stravinsky: L'Histoire du Soldat, suite for clarinet, viola and piano

Entrance fee is 1.500 and 1.000 for children, students, senior citizens and disabled.
