A presentation of artworks the in public space of Reykjavík
In recent years the Reykjavík Art Museum has commissioned large works of art for the end walls of large apartment buildings in the Upper Breiðholt suburb.

Guided tour and a treasure hunt through the exhibition Your Compound View 
Guided tour and treasure hunt for the whole family through the exhibition which consists of a selection of contemporary art from the collections of the Reykjavík Art Museum, with works from 1970-2010 by 50 artists. Prizes for participants who finish the treasure hunt.

6. p.m.-7 p.m.
Guided tour in English about the exhibition Your Compound View
Guided tour in English about the exhibition at Hafnarhús. The exhibition consists of a selection of contemporary art from the collections of the Reykjavík Art Museum, with works by many of Iceland‘s best-known artists working today are featured in the show, including e.g. Ólafur Elíasson, Ragnar Kjartansson, The Icelandic Love Corporation, Gabríela Friðriksdóttir and Hreinn Friðfinnsson.

Kjarvalsstaðir - Reykjavík Culture Night 2014

Guided tour in English about the exhibition Reykjavík, Town, Structure
Guided tour in English about the exhibition at Kjarvalsstaðir. The exhibition showcases selected works from various periods of Icelandic art history, drawn from the collections of the Reykjavík Art Museum. The show explores how Icelandic artists perceived the town as it developed into a city, over 102 years, from 1891 to 1993.

2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Workshop for kids in connection with the exhibition Reykjavík, Town, and Structure
Open workshop for kids of all ages at Kjarvalsstaðir in connection with the exhibition. The workshop is led by Artist Ásdís Spanó and Architect Hugrún Þorsteinsdóttir.

7.30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Reykjavík, Town, Structure: Poetry and Lay Low
Poetry and music event in connection with the exhibition at Kjarvalsstaðir. The exhibition explores how Icelandic artists perceived the town as it developed into a city. Poems about Reykjavík by 10 Icelandic authors decorate the exhibition. Bragi Ólafsson, Óskar Árni Óskarsson, Þórdís Gísladóttir and Sigurlín Bjarney Gísladóttir will read from their poetry and Lay Low performs some of her songs. The event is done in collaboration with Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature.
