(I)ndependent People asks if and how collaboration can operate in negotiation between contesting ideas and desires, and yet allow for unplanned action. This large-scale collaborative takes place at a cluster of museums, galleries, artist-run spaces and institutions in the capital area.

Video artist Steina will perform Violin Power as a part of (I)ndependent People and Raflost, Icelandic Festival of Electronic Arts. Other performers include Egill Sæbjörnsson, the Arduino-group and Hestbak, who perform works by S.L.Á.T.U.R.s.

Artists Steingrímur Eyfjörð & Ulrika Sparre lead a workshop with the participation of Valdemar Gísli Valdemarsson, Electrical Engineer and leyline enthusiast. The workshop will include a short history of the theory of Ley Lines and dowsing.

Norræn samtímalist leggur undir sig sýningarstaðina á Listahátíð í Reykjavík 2012
Listahátíð í Reykjavík í samstarfi við Listasafn Íslands, Listasafn Reykjavíkur, Nýlistasafnið, Norræna húsið og Kynningarmiðstöð íslenskrar myndlistar undirbýr nú umfangsmikið myndlistarverkefni fyrir Listahátíð 2012. Verkefnið hefur hlotið styrk úr norræna sjóðnum Kultur Kontakt Nord og hefur ráðið til sín sýningarstjórann Jonatan Habib Engqvist sem mun stýra verkefninu ásamt verkefnisstjóra, Kristínu Scheving.
